Hauntingly Beautiful Quotes

I loved to collect peculiar things when I was a kid. Odd-shaped stones, leaves with strange patterns, broken sea shells, and things of that sort. I never really stopped doing it but also found alternative ways of keeping this tradition alive. I started collecting words, too.

I came across numerous quotes that weren't life-changing or ultra-inspiring, but they were so powerful that it hurt to know they were actually spilled from a pen; for they should have been dropped from a sky, wrapped up in blood-stained velvet, because that's how they made me feel.
some of my favorite quotes that are hauntingly beautiful
It's only after we've lost everything that we're free to do anything ― The Fight Club
this quote had this aura of freedom which frees you yet also cripples with the burden of realizing how this freedom only comes to those who are left with nothing.

Nothing ever ends poetically. It ends and we turn it into poetry. All that blood was never once beautiful. It was just red.” ― Kait Rokowski
This quote reminded me how essential metaphors can be. i don't know what would i do with them in this crazily realistic world.

"I hated high school. I don’t trust anybody who looks back on the years from 14 to 18 with any enjoyment. If you liked being a teenager, there’s something wrong with you." — Stephen King
this is one eccentric quote but it hit home. I am expected to say that teen years were the best years of my life and high school was heaven, but the reality is quite the opposite. early teen years are probably the hardest and high school was a trial period with extra levels to prepare us for the difficulties of life.

“And once the storm is over, you won’t remember how you made it through, how you managed to survive. You won’t even be sure, whether the storm is really over. But one thing is certain. When you come out of the storm, you won’t be the same person who walked in. That’s what this storm’s all about.” ― Haruki Murakami
i love one thing about struggle; they don't leave permanent scars. you can forget about them when everything goes right in your life and they only play in front of your eyes when you're either nostalgic or reminiscing how life treated you. I consider this quote as a silent tribute to the struggles we're bound to forget.

"make peace with everything that makes it hard for you to sleep." — livedef (via wnq-writers) [thx tumblr for this quote]
I am afraid of my conscience. It is the only thing that could suck up all the peace of mind and even hijack dreams if it is disturbed. This quote hauntingly reminds me of how important it is to keep my conscious tranquil.

all these words are (as Areeba would say) hauntingly beautiful. And I couldn't agree more.

Do you have a fave quote that's strange yet hauntingly beautiful?
