What's In My Art Journal?

I am super excited to show my art journal on the blog today. As my word of the year "Progress" indicates, I am doing more of everything that has stayed on my to-do lists for so long. Art and creative works are on the top of this list. My art journal was started as a basic writing journal and now, it's becoming more of an actual art journal with cute quotes and stuff.

Let's proceed to the journal now:
Whats in my art journal - Noors Place blog

My art journal is a constant work in progress. I have done a few pages so far, but I am glad all of them reflect the person who's behind them. I have a very minimal style and I incorporate it in everything I do. Yikes!
Art Journal - Noors Place blog
// This page is completely inspired by Pinterest. I saw this distinctive hand lettering as a quote & it immediately caught my eye. It's the best version I could make, out of the original version. The "What is normal, anyway?" quote was such an innocent yet sarcastic expression that I couldn't help myself adding it on this page.
Art Journal - Noors Place blog
// This page was a result of severe "so what" syndrome. I had so many regret-questions bubbling up in my mind. Making this page didn't only help in toning down the thoughts' stress, but it also became a cool-looking journal page. Basically, I googled SO WHAT in different languages and put the results in the journal. Wink.
// I started a prompt-based journaling that was initiated by Areeba and Hawwa as #ohjournaletc on Instagram. They have shared the first prompt that's "2016".
I made it around my 2016 goals. It was such a fun idea to put the goals in some kind of visual form. It also features my favorite phrase: "Motivational rule #1: Cool kids don't sleep." Also known as nap fighter quote.

This is all I have in my art journal right now. I'm so proud of this little creative venture I have in this enormous journal (it has like 1000 pages). I have quite a few ideas for the new pages and I can't wait to work on them. Follow me on Instagram to see the sneak peaks and behind-the-scenes while I make them.

Do you keep an art journal, too? What's your favorite kind of creative activity?

  16. I LOVE journaling but I don't have an art journal! Haha! I'm absolutely terrible at keeping them. I think art journals are filled with so much creative and colour, really showing you what was in your mind at the time. Similar to normal writing journals that I keep. Journaling is AWESOME. hahaha <3

  17. I like the concept of an art journal but I've never actually created one for myself. I sketch on random bits of paper that I find around the house and then give them away so I don't really have anything to file.
This looks like it took a lot of time for you to make and I commend you for your patience! Good job!

  26. This so makes me want to do art journals again. I used to do it a lot when I was younger yet haven't found the time to do it once I was forced to become an adult.

  27. I can't explain how much I love this, especially the 'so what' page. I haven't used my art journal in ages but this post has really inspired me!

  28. I've never properly kept a journal because i often forgot to write and had this irrational fear someone may get their hands on it! But I made myself and a friend a memory jar so I've started that :) I love the quotes and illustrations in your journal - you put it all together so nicely!! x
