Books to Read in 2016

I had been looking forward to writing this post ever since 2016's posts were starting to go live. Making a to-read list is never an easy task. Especially when I always have so many recommendations coming my way through my bibliophile friends, book club meetings and random reviews I keep reading online.
I have set up my reading challenge on Goodreads (you should totally join me!) and this time, I am going to read 40 books. YES, YOU HEARD IT RIGHT! Forty books, for real.
Books to read in 2016 noors place blog

The Bastard of Istanbul by Elif Shafak

The Genesis Code by John Case

The Moses Stone by James Becker

Is Everyone Hanging Out Without Me? by Mindy Kaling

Modern Romance by Aziz Ansari

#GirlBoss by Sophia Amoruso

Love Letters To The Dead by Ava Dellaira

The Girl With Dragon Tattoo by Stieg Larsson

Confessions Of A Shopaholic by Sophie Kinsella

The Book Thief by Markus Zusak

To All the Boys I've Loved Before by Jenny Han

The Forty Rules of Love by Elif Shafak

A Thousand Splendid Suns by Khaled Hosseini

The Hounds Of Baskerville by ‎Arthur Conan Doyle (x) already finished

Rebecca of Sunnybrook Farm by Kate Douglas Wiggin (x) already finished

I haven't picked out 40 books just yet. But these 15 books are either on my bookshelf or on my iBooks to be read. The two books with (x) in front of them are the ones I have already finished in the first week of January (YAY!). I have decided to read more uplifting and inspiring books this year. For 2015, I read a lot of philosophy and non-fiction. As my word of the year is Progress, it was more than necessary to design my reading list that way.

I will keep updating my new reads in future posts. Though I am so excited to see how all of these books will turn out. Khaled Hosseini + Elif Shafak's words have never failed to inspire me while Sophie Kinsella's humor is priceless.

What are you going to read in 2016? Is there a book you would recommend me?

I love Sophie Kinsella's Shopaholic series, I have the whole lot and I've read each one at least a couple of times, they are so funny! She also has a great book called the Undomestic Goddess which you should check out if you like her books. Good luck with the challenge, I know you're going to nail it :)
