Life Lately

It's been a great while since I last posted about bits from life. With this year ending and so many things being in progress, I hadn't had a chance to sit back and write a fun post out of the regularly-scheduled posts. Time for a Life Lately post. Wink.

Wheeez!

// The weather is getting cold at my side of the world. It's not just cold, it's super cold. Sweaters, hoodies, and shawls are out of the wardrobes and I bury myself under comforter whenever I can (see also: every single chance I get).

// I had started three books and I couldn't decide which one to finish first. The Kite Runner, The Architect's Apprentice or The Hounds of Baskerville. I finished The Kite Runner a few days ago and now reading The Architect's Apprentice. It's been a great read so far, but it's a very long story. I'm only halfway through it and totally loving it so far. I am excited to read The Hounds of Baskerville that I saw on Amanda's reading list. It sounds like a thrilling mystery (it's a Sherlock Holmes book, can't expect any less.)

// If you haven't seen, I got red dip dyes AGAIN! Last time I had a dull shade of red, mixed with two other shades that I didn't like as much as I wanted to, so this time, I chose this shade all by myself. THE CRAZY RED. My obsession with crazy hair hasn't vanished yet and it doesn't seem like vanishing anytime sooner.

// I started a writing journal and I've been writing a lot in it. Having a writing outlet is as necessary as writing itself, so you can always go back and read about everything that mattered at that moment. I've had a few notebooks before and most of them were lost. I'm also setting up a new inspirtion wall that's going to be more like a mood board. You can see my previous inspiration wall here.

// "For you, a thousand times over." - this quote is from The Kite Runner and it's my new favorite pharse. It reflects an emotional, rather painful, memory of the protagonist in the book, but it's beautiful even outside of the storyline.

// I've been wondering, which social media platform is the most hyped one? I am obsessed with Instagram and Twitter. I can't decide which one could top the list - like Instagram has beautiful photos to offer while Twitter is the best socializing platform, ever!

// Wildest Dreams by Taylor Swift is on repeat & I can't help it.

With winter break just around the corner, I'm so ready to binge watch Gossip Girl and maybe start Sherlock once again from where I left. I'm so excited for the Teen Wolf season 5 to air back soon & see this college year come to end, slowly and day by day.

Let's catch up. What have you been doing, lately?

  3. Sherlock... one of my first true loves. The Abominable Bride is playing in a theater near me on January 5, and I definitely bought tickets. :)

  4. Your hair is dope. I love the red!

In terms of most hyped, I think Instagram is winning right now. Not for me personally, but everyone seems to love that app! (And I think it's where people are making the most money too). I enjoy Twitter on occasion, but I feel like I don't have very clever things to say, lol.

  7. Omg your hair looks insaaaane! I have long black hair too and have been toying with the idea of dip dye for years but you've just tempted me further! Your previous inspiration wall looks great, I can't wait to see how your new one looks. It can be so uplifting to have quotes like that around you.

My journal is my ultimate outlet too, I like to use it as a way of developing my writing style! Enjoy your winter break :)

  8. Omg I hope you'll love the Hound of the Baskervilles!! Thank you so much for the shoutout, please do let me know what you thought of it when you finish reading it :) your hair looks awesome! I dyed mine red again recently, it's definitely my favourite hair colour. I love Instagram and Twitter a lot, I'm not sure which I prefer, which is funny because when someone first told me about Instagram I was a bit cynical. Like, you just post pictures? How is that fun? Now it's the first thing I check in the morning lol :) I will have to check out Kite Runner at some point, sounds intriguing. I keep a journal, too, I get a new one every year and honestly, it is the best therapy, and great for when you need to check a date or event and things like that. Happy holidays, Noor! x
