In honor of Women's Day, Youtube announced a trend called #DearMe. The topic of this trend was "If you could give your younger self a piece of advice, what would it be? " I wanted to jump in right away but I couldn't manage to post on exact 8th March. It's something too close to my heart, so I decided to do it even after a few days.
I know you're a tad bit confused with a lot of life matters. But you can't be blamed. Teen-age is difficult like that. So it's okay. A normal person can't handle life, studies, friendships and everything else ALL at once. But I am glad you did try, at least. If you were to look ahead and find your empowered 17 years old, you wouldn't be half as worried as you're right now. Believe me, things get better and it's not just a metaphorical saying.
My first advice to you is don't follow stupid fashion advises. Leave it for your future self. Bet you, you'll look far great when you use every single thing on this innocent face when it's needed. Which isn't really needed right now.
Second advice, family comes first. Repeat it with me, family comes first. There is no one and can't ever be, for you, other than your family. If you keep taking everyone as serious as you're right now, you'll be doomed. I swear. Okay, well.
Third advice, studying is too important. You can't get into your dream institutions unless you try hard and actually focus on your studies rather than anything else. What is meant to be will surely happen, no one can change it. Just don't compromise your studies.
Fourth advice, GROW UP FOR GOD'S SAKE! You can't just leave everything on "my parents will do". You gotta stand up for what is needed to be done. Why drag your parents everywhere? You're freaking fourteen doe.
(sorry, I guess I got pretty pissed on this 14 years old girl, silly)
Fifth advice, you will be amazed how time changes everything, literally. You'll be squealing with delight if you could see this red dip-dyed hair, confident and brightly smiling Noor who isn't afraid of any sort of changes or challenges. Who has better marks in Math than you ever did. Who has better friends than you had. Who can pull off winged eye liner better than you. This is what happens when you just believe and keep working on your mess. Never stop being creative. Never stop dreaming. Never stop doing what makes you happier.
Your future self
(who's more fab than you, hah! )
What's the piece of advice you'll give to your younger self?
